Politicians around the world who have contracted Coronavirus


Coronavirus has spared no one, from the common man to the rich and famous around the world. A large section of humanity is now under quarantine irrespective of ethnicity, religion or social status. Here are some of the famous politicians around the world who have tested positive for Coronavirus.

1. Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of UK

The British PM confirmed on twitter that he had developed symptoms of Coronavirus and tested positive. He said in his video that he would undergo self-isolation and would continue to work from home.

2. Prince Charles, of Wales

Buckingham Palace announced on March 25 that Prince Charles had contracted Coronavirus. The heir to the British throne, Prince Charles had developed mild symptoms and was self-isolating. He has recovered now.

3. Rand Paul, U.S. Senator for Kentucky

Kentucky Senator Rand Paul tested positive for Covid-19. Having had a part of his lung removed earlier, the senator took the test out of “an abundance of caution” despite being asymptomatic. He is currently in quarantine.

4. Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, wife of Canadian PM

The wife of Canadian President Justin Trudeau experienced “flu-like symptoms” on her return from London. She had mild symptoms and tested positive. She has recovered now after taking all recommended precautions. 

5. Eshaq Jahangiri, Vice President, Iran

Iran’s Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri along with two other cabinet ministers tested positive for Coronavirus. Iran is also the worst affected country in the middle east. 

6. Albert II, Prince of Monaco

Prince Albert II of Monaco, 62, was one of the first heads of state to announce that he had contracted the virus. He is continuing to work from his private apartments at the Royal Palace and is out of danger now.
