UAE Billionaire B R Shetty to make Mahabharata movie with a budget of 1000Cr and The Crew Includes Oscar Winners!
The story of Mahabharata was ever so intriguing to everyone. This epic has already made its way into the TV sometime in the past. Now, it is going to be made into a movie – BIGGER THAN BEFORE.
B R Shetty, chairman of UAE Exchange and NMC Healthcare, a businessman, is currently planning to invest $150 Million (Rs. 1,000 crores) to produce this epic tale into a movie. What’s more interesting is V A Shrikumar Menon, famous filmmaker, is directing the movie. The movie will be made into two parts.
Even more interesting is the movie will be made with the best of the cast, which includes Academy Award winners. Shetty says, “This film will have an identity across continents, with their representatives donning the myriad characters in ‘The Mahabharata’. This global team led by an internationally renowned casting director will handpick the cast.”
He adds, “The film will be shot primarily in English, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, and will be dubbed into major Indian languages and leading foreign languages. I am confident that this film will be adapted in over 100 languages and reach over three billion people across the world.”
M T Vasudevan, the writer of the epic, (also the Padma Bhushan awardee, recipient of almost every literary award in India, including Jnanpith Award, and many other abroad, expresses his desire to work with Shetty and believes on his potential, passion, and commitment to make it to the global audiences.
“We are fully geared to attain the next level of production quality and visual magic, as well as narrative wizardry with this initiative,” says Shrikumar Menon, the director of the movie. He has also been living the script and researching on the project for a few years now.
