The unsolved Mystery of Mount Kailash that abodes to Shiva


The literal meaning of Mount Kailash is “Precious Jewel of the Eternal Show”. Lying in the Tibetan range, this mountain is at the axis of the Earth and is devoted to Adi Yogi Shiva and his eternal spirit mate Shakti. It is located near the rivers Indus, Sutlej, Brahmaputra, and Karnali, and is considered to be the most sacred mountain.

1. The Russian Theory

First, the shape of the mountain is a mystery. It looks like a huge pyramid, and some Russian scientists claim that it is not a mountain, but rather a manmade pyramid.

2. The Mystic Force of Ageing

It is said that people who climb Mount Kailash age really quickly. In recent years, people have not been able to reach the mountain. Also, it is said that the time that humans take to age 2 weeks takes only 12 hours on the mountain. Mystic energy in the mountain? Perhaps.

3. The Theory of Twin Lake

There are two lakes surrounding the mountain – Mansarovar, the God lake and the Rakshas Tal, the Devil lake. People say that Mount Kailash stands as the balance between the two and symbolizes that we have both the sides between us, and there isn’t any evil external to us; we are the evil.

4. The Om Parvat

Om Parvat is one of the mysterious, yet fascinating, the thing in the mountain. Snow falls in the shape of om or aum. If you don’t know, Om or Aum is the vibration of the Universe. It is close to Kailash Parvat, in the Darchula District of Sudurpashchim Pradesh, Nepal.

5. The Mystery of Swastika shadow

When the sun sets and shadows start casting on the mountain, the shadows form the shape of ‘swastika’.

6. The Sage who reached the top

There was only one person who reached the top of Mount Kailash. He is the Tibetan saint, Milarepa. Milarepa is a Tibetan poet too, apart from a sage, and spread Buddhist teaching through songs and poetry.
