Ever been in a situation when your head is throbbing while you are working or studying, but you have no pills to take care of? Worry not now, there’s acupressure to help you get rid of a headache in a scientific way.
Acupressure is a type of massage that combines acupuncture and reflex therapy and is effective according to many studies. But it doesn’t require rocket science to understand it.
First, find yourself in a comfortable position and relax for a bit. It’s not going to take long, one minute max. You just need to find one of these six massage points and press lightly with circular movements. In most cases, the headache disappears after practicing it for 5-10 minutes.
1. Yintang point
This point is in between the eyebrows where the bridge of the nose passes into the forehead. It is also known as the point of the third eye and can also be used when you have eye fatigue.
2. Zan Zhu points
It’s located at the base of an inner edge of eyebrows and can help you with running nose or to improve visual acuity too.
3. Yingxiang points
These points are between nose and mouth, at the side of nostrils in line with the eyes. Find the dimple in the bottom of cheekbones and you’ll find these points. It can also be used to open sinuses, toothache and relieve stress.
4. Tian Zhu Points
Located at the back of the head, in between the ear and the beginning of the spine, these points can help reduce a headache, as well as relieve nasal congestion, pain in the eyes and ears, and migraine.
5. Shuai Gu Points
These points are two to three centimeters from the beginning of hairline in the temple area. Find the dimple and you find the point. It also reduces eye fatigue and reduces pain in the temporal region.
6. He Gu Points
They are located in both hands in between the thumb and the forefinger. It helps to reduce back pain, toothache, and tension in neck muscles, along with a headache too.
